About Us

Academy consist of five teams; Academy X (Varsity), Academy NX (Varsity), Academy NXT (Varsity), Academy Prep (JV), and Lady Academy X (JV/Varsity).  Our sole focus is to invest our time and effort into our current players, teams, and families. The odds of anyone playing NCAA basketball or professionally are low, however, that does not mean we shouldn't be providing players with the best training and access in order to give them every opportunity to succeed in high school and potentially beyond. Our practices are built around game condition skills sets, teaching in-game concepts, and how to apply the knowledge in competitive games.  We do not penalize players for making mistakes they  apply during games.  We are a basketball platform, not a boot camp.

Philosophy

We want our players to learn, try, apply, and compete.  Ball handling, passing, moving without the ball, defense (man-to-man and zones that involve pressure), rebounding, physicality at the point of engagement, and making the right basketball play are all skill sets players need. We want our players to posses the physical skill set, but also have the mental fortitude to slow the game down and be confident.

Athletes succeed when the game slows down. Today's players are bigger, stronger, and faster, not to mention most coaches scheme for constant pressure in order to "speed" the game up, creating havoc and turnovers, dictating the style of play.  Academy players must be able to adapt and thrive under those conditions.

Affordability is important.  We are not about taxing your family bank account. We ask that players cover the cost for court rental and tournament fees.  If you are paying north of $150/month for any program, you are being taken advantage of.  In my opinion, the rest of your money is going into the coaches pocket (non-profit or for profit).  For non-profit, if you are paying more than $100/mo. I repeat, you are being taken advantage of, especially if your kids aren't even traveling.  Do your research!

Teams:  We have three high school boys teams, and one girls high school team.  The boys team will conclude in September 2026, while the girls teams will conclude in September 2027.

Uniform cost: $140 (one-time only charge)

Practice cost:   Practice cost for 3 months (2 practices per week, 1 hour per practive).  We take the total cost and divide it by the number of players.

Tournament cost: For each tournament, we take the cost of each tournament and divide the cost by the number of players participating in the tournament.

Travel:  It is our desire to have the players on each team play in NCAA Certified Showcase Tournaments once they reach the end of their Sophomore High School season.  Our schedule runs from March - May, July - September each year.

Multi-sport Athletes: We encourage it and work with our athletes and their families.  We understand many of our players are gifted in areas that extend outside of basketball.
